Responsible for the management of an R&D team and the execution of innovative projects in the framework of: · MATERIALS- Development and characterisation of polymer composites by using different reinforcements (natural and glass fibre, carbonaceous materials, nanoclay, metal particles) for different applications (3D printing, automotive, aerospace, packaging, solar cooling).- Synthesis of self – healing polymer materials.· CIRCULAR ECONOMY- Valorisation of polymer waste by means of thermomechanical or chemical processes. - Valorisation of agro-waste to transform them into intermediate products with high added value, reinforcements (natural fibre, nanocellulose) or even polymer matrices from which to manufacture polymer biocomposites.- Development, manufacture and testing of both experimental prototypes and pilot plant for the capture and use of solar energy (thermal energy and solar cooling) whose systems are based on polymer materials.- Ecodesign, LCA and LCC of processes and products.· NEW PROCESSES & PRODUCTS- Design and manufacture of new products by the application of polymer processing technologies (injection moulding, compression moulding, compounding extrusion, blow film extrusion, sheet extrusion, RTM and thermoforming).- Design of chemical pilot plants and scale–up of chemical processes.- Application of laser technologies to join polymer–based materials both with each other and with metals.
