Propulsion Graduate Engineer
Led development and testing for a new Merlin upper injector EB weldment process which combines 2 EB weld setups- Saved 327 hours/injector build or 119,000 hours/year stemming from setup, stagnation, & labor- Advanced test articles through new weldment process while updating manufacturing planning for implementationCreated standardized contingent grind loop test plans across all TPA/Injector housings (Turbine, Fuel, Lox, Upper Injector)- Collaborated with engineers, QA leadership, NDE leadership, and production leadership- Structured test plans with a singular format able to accommodate all housing-specific requirementsConducted smear study to remove two etching operations following EB welding and machining- Studied the amount of material that was smeared by three different abrasion techniques- Collaborated with materials engineering in measuring the amount of material smeared by each technique
