Responsible for directing the Innovation and Packaging Department at global level giving support to Divisions (Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Ecuador), and Markets (Europe & North America). Main functions:* Innovation:Responsible for the new company packaging developments for new products related with New Stage Gate Projects and Maintenance Innovation Projects*Packaging Quality Control: Responsible for the Quality Control of packaging materials at global level, assuring compliance and consistency in material quality manufactured by suppliers*Purchasing Department Technical Support: Responsible for authorizing use of new potential materials or new supplier’s products, verifying performance and compliance with our specifications.*Technical Support in solving issues from Divisions & Markets: Responsible for investigating and solving issues related with packaging material performance at Divisions and Market level. *Packaging Saving Projects: Responsible for identify, evaluate and validate saving opportunities in the packaging area.*Responsible for the Artwork & Material specification Areas: Generate specification & artworks for all packaging materials, and keep an updated manual and intranet site with all information for company usage.Main achievements:* 2012: New banana box ventilation design (Inventor member of submitted patent): Box allowed a faster fruit cooling and a better and more uniform fruit ripening, reducing electricity costs in supply chain.* 2011: A new MAP bag for bananas (Inventor member of submitted patent): A Modified Atmosphere Bag was developed to prolong the Yellow Life of Bananas. Bag successfully implemented, allowing important savings and competitive position to the company.

Responsible for supporting the Innovation & Packaging projects for the Markets (Europe & North America) and implement them in Banana Divisions (Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Ecuador). The main functions included:*Innovation: Developing of new packaging products and promotions. In charge of prototype design, test and validate prototype performance at local & Market levels. Give support in the implementation process. *CAD Drawing specifications: Generate specification for all new packaging materials and coordinate with the USA Art-Studio the artwork development for the new packaging materials, besides of documenting and keeping updated all the packaging information used for the company.Main Achievements: 2000: RPBC (Inventor member of submitted patent). I participated in the research and developing of a “Returnable Plastic Bulk Container” (plastic transportation system) developed to transport Bananas to Europe. This has allowed annual savings about $1MM.

Responsible for the Packaging Laboratory Administration, providing the technical support to Divisions (Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Ecuador) and Markets (Europe & North America). The main functions included:* Quality Control Process: Keep a control quality system for the products used for the company by performing tests, analyzing results, reporting findings and giving a follow up to suppliers in action plans to correct issues – in case of detected unconformities.* Support in research and developing of new packaging products for the company.* Technical Support in solving packaging issues at Market & Divisions levels.* Technical support for the Purchasing Department evaluating new materials.

Responsible for the Plastic Laboratory of the R&D Department of the company, with operations in Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. The main functions included:* Strong role in Research and Development of new plastic materials and products for the company.* Supervise tests of new plastic materials or products in Plastic Plants and validate performance at real life.* Support in Quality Control and solving issues with customers, determining causes and implementing corrective actions at Plastic Plant level.Main Achievements: 1990: Green Modified Atmosphere Bag for bananas (Inventor member of submitted patent): I participated in the research and develop of a bag to prolong the Green Life of bananas.
