I Currently work as a contractor for Southern California Edison as a Construction Coordinator. My roles and responsibilities are to plan power outages and coordinate the entire construction processes that occur for infrastructural repair on power lines both over head and underground; this includes pole replacements, power line reconductors, wildfire prevention projects, and all other electrical grid maintenance. My prior experience before this position was being a GM on a power line crew; where everyday tasks included pole replacements, reconductoring power lines, and responding to emergency services whether they were wildfires, emergency repairs due to weather, and vehicular accidents that affected power poles.I grew up in East LA where I spent my childhood and teenage years becoming a competitive soccer player for the Chivas de Guadalajara Youth Academy. I was surrounded by positive coaches and mentors that not only developed me as a player, but also helped be a positive influence that shaped me to make the right choices to survive the high crime and gang violence that was occurring in East Los Angeles. After graduating from high school I enlisted in the military where I served as an Infantryman for the U.S. Army 25th Infantry Division, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st battalion 14th Infantry Regiment, Bravo Company. During my time in the service when not in combat operations I played for our divisions soccer team and outside base in Hawaii. My military service helped me understand leadership and accountability where I share those traits with my players and parents. I love building a culture of tight comradery with my teams where not only do the players have a tight bond, but so do the parents amongst themselves. Building trust and understanding everyone is unique that we all come from different backgrounds and beliefs makes it important for me to create a positive environment where I emphasize respect, support, and compassion.
