Accountable for the design proposal of an aerogenerator for urban areas in Mexico- Designed, manufactured and tested an eolic generator. Used the data of the tests in order to conclude useful information and improve the design.- Market study to determine possible price ranges for clients- Performed CFD analysis to determine feasibilityResult: eolic generator was concluded not to be feasible due to excessive coupling friction. In addition, price was not competitive in the market due to the manufacturing capability.

Accomplishments 1. Accountable for the solution of a low perceived quality user experience with the door of top load dryer- Situation: opening/closing of dryer door experience is perceived as low-quality. In addition, these opening/closing forces are very high and door makes squeaking sound and deflects significantly.- Task: design, test, propose and implement a solution to this problem- Action: design of a new closing mechanism (metallic strike & plastic latch) and a plastic door reinforcement- Result: closing mechanism reduced opening/closing by 25 – 30% and its variability (standard deviation) by +20%. Deflection was reduced by +10% via reinforcement. Both reinforcement and mechanism approved for production for +500K units annually.2. Accountable for the validation and mechanical analysis of a UVc radiation system inside a dryer- Situation: area of opportunity was identified in the introduction of a UVc radiation system inside the dryer which disinfects and removes odors of garments- Task: propose, design, test and make a brief financial proposal of a UVc radiation device inside the dryer. - Action: validation and mechanical analysis of UVc radiation system. Performed tests, modeling in CREO software, prototyping and using the data to improve the design- Result: UVc technology proposed is under the process of legal protection by Mabe and is currently being considered for a patent in USA by GE Appliances3. Accountable for the determination of feasibility of a sealing proposal in the dryer- Situation: area of opportunity in sealing proposal on the drum proved to increased energy efficiency by +5% and reduction of cycle time by +15%- Task: determine the feasibility of this proposal- Action: proposed sealing prototype with supplier, with engineering constraints such as: static loads, resilience, high temperatures. Tested prototype and used data analysis to determine conclusions- Result: sealing proposal was proven to not be feasible
