About Francisco Lima

Francisco Lima is the Director of Hogarth.io, Hogarth Worldwide Innovation outpost, where he’s responsible for leading innovation in the creative production industry through emerging technologies, agile exploration and quick prototyping, resulting in new ways of working, accelerating its production capabilities and amplifying the creative output of the organisation. Francisco Lima started his career in computer graphics and visual effects in the early 90’s, moving on to work leading production studios and technology companies in the Media and Entertainment industry.In 92 Francisco joined MultiRio a new studio focused on TV series for kids tasked with setting up a great team of artists and defining the tech infrastructure and tools required to build the Multimedia Dept to create/produce the animations and graphics to support the TV series. He became the Department Manager and implemented novel solutions such as virtual sets which made the content engaging and stand out in the market.In 96 he became part of Discreet Logic/Autodesk Application Specialist team focusing on the high-speed compositing systems Inferno/Flame and the virtual set systems Frost/Vapour. He acted as consultant to the leading Post/VFX Studios in Latin America supporting them on transitioning from SD to Full HDTV workflows for TV and High Resolution (2K+) and colour pipeline necessary to create visual effects for Film.In 2002 he joined TV Globo, one of the largest broadcasters/producers in the world. In charge of increasing the quality and creative output to the existing VFX department, Francisco went on to build the Research & Development Dept focused on research, design and implementation of the latest technologies developing novel solutions including the Digital Backlot and Virtual Production framework that revolutionised how TV content is produced in Brazil and augmenting the creative possibilities and quality of the content produced by TV Globo who went on the win multiple Emmy awards since then.In 2011 he moved to London with his family taking on different roles and developing new solutions, production models and capabilities in the studios he worked while supervising VFX projects for TV and Film.In 2013 he joined Hogarth Worldwide tasked with the unique opportunity of setting up a brand-new Post/VFX facility in the heart of Soho. Francisco went on to collaborate, support and work with the multiple departments at Hogarth, designing solutions and workflows for projects and pitches and in 2019 he became Director of Hogarth.io, Hogarth’s innovation outpost.
