About Francisco Rentería

An engineer who got into public policy. Originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, I have worked across research, government, and climate finance. Now, as part of the inaugural team at the Climate Action Center of Excellence (CACE), I support governments and firms operationalizing Article 6 of the Paris Agreement—a crucial framework for accelerating climate action globally. In the past, I worked for the Ministry of Environment and the Environmental Fund of my home state, Jalisco, in Mexico. I recently completed a dual-degree program at the University of Michigan, pursuing an M.S. in Environment and Sustainability and a Master of Public Policy, supported by a Fulbright scholarship. If you’re on a similar mission, I’d love to connect and exchange ideas!
