During the market downturn in June 2023, I lost my position at Wellington Management after 25 years in the talent acquisition industry. Rather than immediately seeking another role, I saw it as the right time to take a step back, pause, and dedicate some time to pursuing a personal passion. I chose to focus on something I’ve always loved—motorcycles—and enrolled in Motorcycle Technician training at the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute. While at MMI, I kept myself busy by completing an apprenticeship at a local motorcycle service shop, gaining hands-on experience alongside my coursework. Upon graduation, driven by a desire to apply my new skills, I secured a technician position at Indian Motorcycle of Orange County, where I have been working since July. I also earned my Technician Recognition from Harley-Davidson and, more recently, achieved Gold Technician certification from Indian Motorcycle. While this journey of learning and growth has been incredibly rewarding, I now feel ready to return to my original professional passion—talent acquisition—and refocus my career in that direction.
