I am a Spanish Industrial Engineer, with a specialization in Mechanical-Structural Engineering. I have worked for over 7 years in a couple of consultancies (Industrial and Civil engineering), where my principal responsibilities were the modelling, calculating and creating construction drawings of diverse structures, using Autocad and another program called "Cypecad" (it's similar to Tekla), in addition to other tasks such as the design of the drainage, lighting and pavement for roads or the design of piping for several systems. Also I have worked a lot of weekends as an associate engineer with an architectural studio, creating structural projects for buildings in different types of projects: sport centres, commercial and housing refurbishment projects and other building services (pipework systems, electrical, lighting, plumbing, and sanitation drawings, etc.) as well as its supervision on-site.My last job was in a Biomass Power Plant (ENCE), being responsible for the technical assistance (calculations, budgets, construction drawings and on-site supervision) of each project that was developed. This position gave me experience of working under pressure, with very tight deadlines and different kind of projects.Therefore I was involved in different duties in this position:- Taking on-site measurements to make the designs- Creating P&IDs, layout plans, GA's, manufacturing drawings of vessels and tanks, etc- Preparing the necessary documentation (plans, specifications...) for the contractors.- Dealing with contractors, sub-contractors, managers, etc- Sending the progress report to the main office monthly- Making periodic field visits in order to check the work progress- Preparing comparative spreadsheets according to the contractors' estimatesNow looking for a position as a Structural CAD Technician or a similar role, and carrying on progressing towards a Chartered Structural Engineer.
