Responsibilities include:As part of Three Saints Bay, responsible for critical 24x7 database operations support, system architecture and administration of Oracle and MS SQL server database high-availability environments that support the department's mission and goals. Key responsibilities include IT operations project support, database security incident response management, and implementation and support of database architecture. • Installation and upgrade of Database Management System (DBMS) software for Oracle, MS SQL server, and MongoDB (NoSQL) system.• Responsible for incident response, evaluation, risk analysis, and mitigation of reported database security findings, and vulnerabilities in support of the Information Security Office.• Evaluation of security requirements to include Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA’s) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG’s).• Management and monitoring of production, development, testing and training databases to ensure optimal performance and prevent or reduce negative impact on system or users.• Oversight of new database designs projects; participate in planning for changes to databases to accommodate organization growth or retirement of systems; maintain physical and logical database design; use best practices in data modeling activities to achieve optimal designs.• Development of onsite and offsite database backup procedures to recover from database outage and database corruptions.• Development of database administration documentation to include standard procedures required to backup and restore database systems and to solve recurring system problems.
