- Created and implemented a comprehensive training program for staff who are not familiar or comfortable with social media, to ensure that this important link to the public is well-maintained.- Oversaw continued success of local social media program and have expanded the use and variety of templates to allow for easier yet engaging posts. Social media following has grown from around 20,000 to over 40,000 in 1.5 years.- Performed website maintenance, posted news headlines, and answered questions from the public via email. - Created and released an improved Text Products page to allow easier use by the public and partners. The page may be viewed at weather.gov/car/textproducts- Provided on-site Decision Support Services (DSS) for the Bangor Waterfront Concert Series with the WCM, on an active weather day when thunderstorms were in the region, and were able to ensure the safety of attendees and successful completion of the concert.- Participated in remote DSS for the International Biathlon in Presque Isle, ME, and various smaller events and incidents for the Maine Forest Service, county EMAs, and local officials.- Involved in multiple public outreach events to increase our name recognition and exposure, including staffing a table at the Bangor State Fair, leading spotter talks, and leading station tours for the general public and school groups.- Successfully organized and led our Fall 2015 office workshop. - Participated in the local Severe Weather and DSS teams, including helping to update portions of the Severe Weather Intranet pages and provide questions for drills.- Issued severe convective warnings and statements in our 2016 severe weather season. Also hold Upper Air certification and regularly launch weather balloons.- Extensive use of the AWIPS 2 system, including the Graphical Forecast Editor, to produce forecast products for all time ranges.- Succesfully discharge all other observational and public desk duties of the Intern position.
