CurrentI provide counsel to clients in matters involving environmental law, including regulatory compliance under state and federal statutes, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and CERCLA. I work with clients to assist them in resolving wide ranging environmental challenges, including environmental litigation, government enforcement actions, citizen's suits, permit negotiations and appeals, project development, brownfields redevelopment, environmental compliance audits and due diligence. Prior to entering private practice, I served as Regional Administrator, U.S. EPA, Region 5, leading a staff of over 1300 employees, and working with state environmental agencies in overseeing implementation of environmental laws and policy in the Great Lakes Region. I previously served as an environmental enforcement attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington D.C., and with the Illinois Attorney General's Office. I served for 13 years as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Reserve Field Artillery, served as a Battery Commander, and attained the rank of Captain.
