• As Project Engineer proposed an IRAD project for a secure wireless Communications Systems (both voice and machine) for the purpose of weight reduction of the EP-3E aircraft. Project was funded and the concept has been proven feasible.• As Project Engineer specified antenna, radome and installation requirements with Solid State Amplifier (SSA) on aircraft. Oversaw installation of SSA, antenna Co-site test & analysis of on First Development Aircraft (FDA).• As Project Engineer supervised Factory Acceptance Test and analysis of SSA Subsystem. Oversaw installation and functional test of SSA on FDA.• Called in by NAVAIR to resolve SSA subsystem Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) issue after flight testing FDA. Determined and proved that a control signal cable to the SSA was picking up external signals within aircraft. Wrote report as to the solution – NAVAIR implemented the solution and resolved the issue.• Designed and installed secure RF to fiber optic communications (electro-optics) link.• Prepared Link Budget Analyses, test procedures, and test validations for SATCOM systems (ArcLight, aka HopLite), Communications Data Link (CDL), Line of Sight (LOS) communications system, IO Communications and Traffic Avoidance System (TCAS) installations. • Prepared Electromagnetic Compatible (EMC) of Antenna Systems on Navy aircraft using Co-site Analyses, risk mitigation and testing.• Developed a platform integration systems Cost Estimating Relationship (CER) method for program requirements and bidding.• Clearance; TS/SCI

As Contracted Project Engineer hired to solve antenna & RADOME issues AN/ALQ-211 (EW System) installation on CV-22.• Anechoic Testing - Direction Finding (DF) issue - Using software analysis recommended installation of RAM on fuselage to reduce RF reflection - Static testing in chamber: DF ISSUE SOLVED. • Flight testing indicated DF issue was not resolved. - Wind tunnel test indicated that RADOME material was flexing du to in-flight air pressure. - Redefined RADOME rigidity specifications of the radome - DYNAMIC ISSUE SOLVED. • ECM transmission power level issue - Analyzed the data resulting from anechoic chamber tests: poor Jam to Signal ratio. - Reported on Antenna beam spreading technique reducing ERP and proposed solution.• During production discovered, via visual inspection, incorrect antennas were being installed. - Testing of the antennas in a compact anechoic lab proved antennas were inadequate. - Recommended using EDM fabricated antennas as opposed to cast antennas. - Recommendation accepted and production installation corrected.• During winter testing in Halifax, dangerous ice-build-up on ECM RADOME was observed. - Designed experimental effort to evaluate possible solutions in environmental lab. - Analyzed the results proving RADOME must be reshaped to shed the ice. - Redesign of RADOME shape and maximum height: flat-face radome was best - Designed test procedures & supervised testing of new RADOME shapes in icing-wind tunnel. - Designed & supervised repositioning of antennas with RADOME. Flight testing was successful.• Clearance: S
