I currently work at the largest law firm in New Jersey – the Attorney General’s Office – where I represent the New Jersey Departments of Health and Human Services, the two largest state government entities, as well as the Office of the State Comptroller’s Medicaid Fraud Division. Practicing before administrative tribunals, trial courts, and appellate courts at the state and federal levels, I manage a large caseload of diverse healthcare litigation and enforcement matters involving health care providers, hospitals, assisted living facilities, and recovery centers. In addition to litigation, I also review, negotiate, and advise client agencies on various contractual matters, including memoranda of understanding and settlement agreements. Additionally, I routinely respond to requests for legal advice from my client agencies and provide legal guidance to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements, including HIPAA, the ADA, and Title IX. Since 2019, I have also served as the Attorney General’s designee on the governing board of the Integrated Population Health Data Project – a hub for sharing public health data. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I reviewed and made recommendations on drafts of the Governor’s Executive Orders and the Commissioner of Health's Executive Directives. I also reviewed and advised on multiple rule waivers and modifications necessary for the regulated community to adapt to the exigencies of the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, I regularly coordinate our Section’s internship program and serve on interview panels for candidates seeking employment in the Division of Law.

During my clerkship, I reviewed pretrial motions for a variety of civil matters and evaluated both the legal and factual basis for relief. I conducted legal research and proposed recommendations to the judge based on court rules and established legal principles. I approached my responsibilities with the utmost seriousness and diligence, knowing that Judge Perri would rely on my findings and recommendations in adjudicating claims affecting the lives and rights of litigants.

As a clinical ethics fellow, I conducted case consultations and engaged in ethics education at one of the top hospitals for cancer care and prevention in the world. To proactively identify and resolve ethical concerns, I regularly rounded with the medical team on multiple services, including in the intensive care unit. I also routinely attended tumor board meetings and was embedded within interdisciplinary care teams throughout the hospital, including the palliative care unit. Along with ethics faculty, I also responded to requests for ethics consultations. This involved meeting with patients, family members, and members of the patients' care team to gather information, identify any areas of disagreement, facilitate communication, make informed recommendations in alignment with ethical principles, and engage in any necessary follow-up. In addition to producing published scholarship, I also developed and led presentations to educate diverse stakeholders about major issues in clinical ethics. This included giving a monthly lecture to medical students and residents completing rotations in the ICU, as well as hospital-wide presentations on diverse topics such navigating uncertainty in clinical decision-making, as well as familial coercion and relational autonomy.

As an extern, I conducted research and drafted memoranda in preparation for federal civil and criminal trials. I would often discuss and help execute strategy with the firm's managing partner, as well as correspond with clients, the court, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

In this law school clinic, I had the privilege of representing clients with physical and mental disabilities in various legal claims, including appeals for denial of Supplemental Security Income and Medicaid waiver services. I interviewed clients, developed a theory for each case, conducted factual investigations, and presented the case at a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge.

As Judge Platt's judicial extern, I helped manage a busy docket in the Family Court and Orphans Court. I reviewed petitions, conducted research, and drafted memoranda on a variety of issues in family and estate law.

While interning at AEI, I drafted a manuscript from the Speaker’s address, “Rethinking America’s Budget Process.” This required extensive research on a variety of high-impact policy issues, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, prison reform, the Establishment Clause of the Constitution, and the United State's strategy in Afghanistan. I also prepared written briefs and helped coordinate speaking engagements for the Speaker. For these contributions, the Speaker kindly acknowledged me in his book, "To Save America."
