My practice focuses on employment law, employee benefits and employment litigation. I advise and litigate on a broad range of employment matters. I specialise in complex litigation, restructurings, executive hiring and firing, employee competition, compliance and investigations, whistleblowing, works councils, disputes between professional services firms and their partners and work in the gig economy. Being a part-time PhD researcher in this field at the University of Amsterdam, I also have particular expertise in fundamental rights issues such as discrimination, equal pay, privacy, collective bargaining, industrial action and freedom of speech and religion in the workplace. I was "recommended for litigation and arbitration" and recognised for my "strong performance" in "high-profile litigation" by Legal 500 and Chambers Europe, describing me as "intelligent", "an excellent employment lawyer" and "an absolute talent". I have authored a book on whistleblowing, contribute to leading Dutch employment law handbook Sdu Commentaar Arbeidsrecht and regularly speak and write about various employment law topics.I started my career in-house at American Standard in Brussels in 2002 in a general corporate and commercial role. In 2004 I moved to private practice. Before joining Fieldfisher in 2019, I worked for Baker & McKenzie and Jones Day in Amsterdam.In my spare time I am an avid globetrotter and I enjoy history, playing Diplomacy, running and Italian sports bikes.
