After completing my Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental control, I was appointed as the Occupational Hygiene Officer at Evnder Goldmines. On top of the work that was being done as a ventilation observer (see below) I was also responsible for managing the Lamp room and writing and updating of all Occupational Hygiene Related COP as well as procedures. I was also part of the team that build and commissioned a new HTS (Heat Tolerance Screening) Centre and the HTS Supervisor as well as the NAU clerk reported to me

Building on my experience gained as an Intern I am in charge of all Occupational Hygiene measurements as well as writing monthly internal reports and quarterly DMRE report some of my daily duties include doing Occupational Hygiene reports on surface and underground as well as underground ventilation reports. I am also in charge of modelling all the new expansions and projects such as the new BAC and Ice plant on VUMA

I was a intern occupational hygienist at Evander Goldmine 8 shaft, working on various projects and shadowing the Occupational Hygienist in his daily routines to learn his duties and responsibilities as an Occupational Hygienist. Currently I am assisting in the planning of the expansion project to mine 24, 25 and 26 levels. I am functioning as project administrator for the refrigeration plant project. I further completed a project on the upgrading of the Change House and Lamp room facilities. I have the unique privilege of gaining experience in the Shaft Pillar extraction and the ventilation challenges associated with holing through Ore passes, Haulages and the shaft itself
