I spear-headed the development of and managed the workflow of streamlined content management system-based workflows for various publishing mediums, such as print books, ebooks (EPUB3), and XML feeds to outside partners. - My commitment to technical problem-solving led to the full incorporation of all Adams Media imprint titles within a CMS, thereby negating the requirement of external vendors.- I innovated automation solutions that bolster company efficiency. - I developed a Python script to automate the incorporation of metadata and covers for a rapid-production line of direct-to-ebook romance titles. This tech innovation not only enhanced workflow efficiency but also reduced time-to-market duration.

Strangelet was a bimonthly speculative fiction and poetry magazine that I founded with five of my colleagues from Emerson College. I developed the business plan and acted as the designer and production editor. I laid out and designed the issues using InDesign and managed the copyediting and proofreading. Then I created the EPUB, mobi/KF8, and consumer grade PDF versions of the issues and distributed those to our vendors and printers according to their specifications. I also designed and developed two iterations of the website using the Wordpress CMS and customized child themes.

I developed the ebook workflow for Litweaver's library of young adult titles. Created paragraph numbering system using CSS to replace previous table-based (non-semantic) paragraph numbering. I also built CSS stylesheet template and automation scripts to create EPUBs and mobi/KF8 files. I revised the standard cover design for the series.

I manage content for online publications and create ebook editions of MCLE's publications using Word, Sigil, and Notepad++.

I design and lay out the journal using InDesign, communicate with the Editor in Chief and Managing Editor to determine the order of the pieces in the journal, and help to enter in corrections from the proofreaders for the finished journal.

I edit photos, line drawings, and redraw graphs using Photoshop and Illustrator; proofread the online book reviews; and use InDesign to lay out and design the Journal's supplement Outlook.

For the production department, I delivered manuscripts and corrections to the editors, entered corrections for reprints in InDesign and QuarkXPress, and processed invoices. I also did some quality assurance work for eBooks using Adobe Digital Editions.

I laid out and designed several spreads of the magazine.

I assembled a team of four designers in creating a complete redesign of the magazine in order to establish a better precedent for future editions. I organized and conducted meetings; created the basic template; assigned pages and supervised the progress of the other designers, in addition to laying out my own assignment; answered questions from team members and worked hands-on to rectify any problems; and brainstormed with the team on cover ideas and design elements. I was also responsible for assembling the page assignments in InDesign, doing quality checking on the designers' files, and creating the final PDF.

Tea Literary Magazine is the largest undergraduate literary magazine at the University of Florida. While there, I was responsible for reviewing submissions and judging them based on quality, creativity, and clarity. As Co-Editor, I worked closely with the Editor in Chief to edit accepted pieces for grammatical errors, sentence construction, and content. I also contacted bookstores for distribution, and proofread the final version of the magazine with the Editor in Chief.

As Author Relations Manager, I was responsible for contacting authors regarding the status of their submissions, keeping track of submissions, and arranging meetings between authors and editors to revise pieces for content and mechanics.

With my promotion to Quality Assurance, I took on new responsibilities in addition to my work as a scribe. I reviewed transcriptions written by other scribes, doing on-the-spot copyediting. I corrected transcriptions for grammar, accuracy, and adherence to certain standards delineated by the company. I communicated to the scribes what errors were committed and what preventative measures to implement in the future.

I transcribed dictations called in by phone from subscribers, often financial and medical professionals. The topics of these dictations ranged from case notes to important client information. I then sent the transcriptions by e-mail back to the subscriber.

I evaluated images received from authors for their books and determined if the sizes and resolutions met the Press's guidelines. I also manipulated the photos in Photoshop by adjusting levels, removing blemishes and moiré patterns, converting files to appropriate modes and formats, and other methods in order to prepare the images for the layout designers.
