For 10 years I have been an adjunct and visiting professor at many schools and acting studios around the world, offering workshop courses in playwriting as well as intensive course study (1-3 credits) in dramatic text analysis.

2000 - Present International Guest Teacher Published and produced playwright since 1995. 22 professional productions (including major Off-Broadway and Off-Off Broadway) in New York and internationally. Over a dozen regional and amateur productions. Recent international productions in London, Rome, Buenos Aires, Moscow, Melbourne, Prague, Zagreb. Future productions: Madrid, Rio di Janiero/Sao Paulo, Santiago, Sydney and more. Intensive Master Classes in Text Analysis of major dramatic works open to undergraduate and graduate students, actors, writers, directors and producers. Students are offered a profound understanding of the play as a piece of dramatic literature, in order to better approach and achieve a nuanced and complex understanding of the play’s setting (social significance of time and place), characters, plot and conflict, and the themes addressed in the work. This process allows the student to move forward and begin to perform the piece as it was intended. Symposium style class rooms with 30 to 60 students. Courses: Tennessee Williams and his time in Rome. Arthur Miller and the American Social Conscience. Two Great American Dramas: A Streetcar Named Desire and Death of a Salesman. Stretching Your Mind: Albee and American Absurdism. *Guest Lecturer on Williams, Miller, Albee, and O’Neill. Institutions include: Damu –Prague, The Actor’s Center and the University of Rome; and others.

English (ELA) teacher of 11th and 12th grades. Vast experience in creating dynamic lesson plans for Junior English (The American Experience) and Senior English (International Literature). The focus of my work for the past 12 years has been writing and the writing process, wherein students are given in depth analysis and feedback on their writing. Students cover a variety of writing genres with a focus on NYS ELA Regents and SAT essay component. I have developed several different curricula for Juniors and Seniors, which include an Author Study Series (Ibsen, Chekov, Williams, Miller); 20th Century American Drama (O'Neill, Miller, Williams, Albee); Foundations of Poetry (with a focus on Modernism and 20th Century poetry). Another curriculum includes various genre studies: short story, novel, poetry, and drama for a full year two semester course. Developed a Creative Writing course wherein students explore major themes in their own lives by relating to classic and modern literature. Developed an Introduction to Film course for 11th and 12th grade; focusing on cinematic techniques and story-telling. Some thematic connections that arise through looking at literature from our contemporary lens includes: mythology, tragedy, escapism, sexual identity, romance, feminism, and heroism. Employ conventional and alternative performance and growth assessments, and used the journal-as-portfolio as part of an ongoing student assessment. Intensive Writing Workshops; excellent facilitator of writing programs: reading, revising and drafting, etc. Expertise in NYS ELA Regents preparation with a focus on various types of essay writing. All NYS standards are rigorously met and creatively incorporated into both classroom activities and assignments. Strongly encourage students to write about, analyze, and critically discuss works of drama and fiction. *Drama Club: playwriting, text analysis, acting and performance.
