Early experience was in nuclear power plants, reactors and fuel management, with emphasis on emergency cooling system and safety, including interface with licensing authority. Currently leading the efforts of the engineering division in support of the accelerator and science programs. Recent past responsibilities included leading the civil work of large laboratory expansions, project management as well as technical lead for the electrical infrastructures on site. Leads the technical infrastructure group in support of ARIEL-II, providing technical expertise in facility layout and integration, advanced grounding techniques, and electrical power systems. ARIEL is the new TRIUMF flagship facility that will expand Canada's capabilities to produce and study exotic isotopes for physics and medicine. With the ARIEL civil constructions complete, the focus forward is on completing the electron LINAC accelerator, the electron targets (which includes an advanced photo-converter), the radioisotope spectrometer and the ARIEL radioisotope transport beams. The first beam to target is planned for 2023. Leading the effort to develop and implement Energy Conservation Program to reduce TRIUMF overall energy efficiency. To give effect to that initiative a strategic partnership has been developed with the Power Smart Division of BC Hydro.I also endeavor to advance the mission of ARPICO, the Society of Italian Researchers and Professionals in Western Canada (www.arpico.ca) and promote the exchange of researchers and senior students between Canada and Italy.

Project Leader Ariel Technical InfrastructuresTriumf Jun 2010 - Oct 2020Vancouver, British Columbia, CanadaLead the TRIUMF effort and the technical design team, from conception to occupancy, for the conventional engineering of the ARIEL 31 M$ facility. The technical team was lead by CTA Architects a local firm with prior experience in developing facilities like ARIEL. Project was completed in 2014 on budget and on time! I owe a special thank you for that success to Gary Ridout, P.Eng. and William Richert, P. Eng. for their unwavering and knowledgeable support. Present effort continues with the integration of scientific equipment into the facility. First particle beam extraction expected in 2023. Working side by side with the accelerators, targetry and experimental physicists is one one best and rewarding challenges for an engineers that wish to test him/herself in applications that push the envelope of physics and engineering knowledge. -
Acting Associate Lab Director - Engineering DivisionTriumf Feb 2020 - Aug 2020VancouverCoordinating the efforts of the Engineering Division in support of the TRIUMF mission, with particular focus to the delivery of first radioactive beam to target, the science and life science programs and refurbishing of aging infrastructures. -
Group Leader, Power SystemsTriumf Jul 1995 - Feb 2020Ubc CampusWith 9 staff reporting to the position, responsible for the power delivery and electrical infrastructures and safety on site, as well as engineering and operational support to the accelerator and experimental users. In particular, advises experimenters and TRIUMF users on specialized electrical requirements for experimental facilities and associated safety matters. -
Electrical EngineerTriumf Jul 1987 - Jul 19954004 Wesbrook Mall, University Of British ColumbiaResponsible for site electrical system operation and power delivery. Introduced formalized documentation control for the electrical system configuration management. Provided electrical engineering support to Accelerator Division, and experimenters. Improved the reliability of the Cyclotron Ion Source (300 KV), by changing the power delivery method from isolation transformer to motor driven AC generator and use optical interfaces for controls and interlocks. That change also removed a significant fire hazard form the transformer oil. -
