- managing of the staff and service team resources of the Unit, allocating the required support to theMissions implemented within the Unit;- overall technical management of the service team(s) associated to the Unit, directly or viadelegation to the Unit’s SOMs (that act as Technical Responsible (TR) of the respective teams);- drafting, in coordination with the ground segment teams and the Mission Manager, the projectrequirements to develop the operations concept in support of definition of the missionimplementation plan(s) of the missions allocated to the Unit;- conducting mission operations studies and elaborating mission operation concepts and theirevolution in support of the above activities, directly or via delegation to the Unit’s SOMs ;- defining detailed requirements for the ground systems to be developed to support spacecraftoperations of the Missions assigned to the Unit, directly or via delegation to the Unit’s SOMs;participating with ESTEC Project Team in the definition and implementation of the spacesegment, particularly regarding interface with the ground segment, operability and maintenance,directly or via delegation to the Unit’s SOMs;- conducting operations during critical mission phases (Launch and Early Orbit, missiondisposal/termination, etc.), acting as Flight Operations Director when appointed by the Head ofDivision;- interfacing with the user community, external operations centres and agencies for all aspectsrelated to mission operations (ESTEC, ESRIN, JAXA, etc.), in collaboration with the Unit’sSOMs;

• building-up, managing and training the Flight Control Team;• participating with the ESTEC Project Team/Mission Manager inthe definition and implementation of the space segment,particularly in the areas of interface with the ground segment,operability and maintenance;• analysing, in coordination with the ground segment team, theproject requirements and developing operations concept insupport of the definition of the mission implementation plan;• conducting mission operations studies and elaborating missionoperation concepts and their evolution in support of the activitiesabove;• defining detailed requirements for the ground systems to bedeveloped to support spacecraft operationsconducting all commissioning and routine mission operations until end of mission, including mission planning, execution, reporting, anomaly investigation and resolution, evaluation and long term analysis both of the ground segment and spacecraft performance, and on-board software maintenance where required;• interfacing with the user community, external operations centres and Agencies for all aspects related to the operations of the mission;

- Support to the FOS System Requirements Document generation and participation to thedefinition and review of the FOS main facilities specifications and ICDs- Participation to MCS and SIM Requests for Proposals preparation and evaluation- Coordination of Flight Control Team support to facilities reviews and contribution toacceptance tests- Daily coordination of FOS procurement activities- Support to the MIP and CAC reviews- Coordinate the Sentinel‐2 specific FOS interface activities with Industry and Project,including deliverables to FOS (e.g. On Board Software, Database).- Definition of System Validation Tests campaign and SVT‐0a preparation and execution- Coordination with ESRIN for definition of Mission Planning concept and interfaces, withsupport to PDGS reviews.- Coordination of FOS participation in the S2 Flight Segment reviews (System PDR, SystemCDR, On Board Software) and Ground Segment reviews (GSRR, GSPDR)- Selection and management of the S2 Flight Control Team

- Prime responsible for the Attitude and Orbit Control Subsystem (AOCS)- Spacecraft Operations Manager deputy- Definition, implementation and validation of FOS external and internal Ground Segmentinterfaces, including organization and execution of FOS related activities of the Cryosat‐2 GSOV campaign- Management and execution of GS element testing (MCS, interfaces) related to the GSOV- Acceptance testing of the MCS and simulator for subsystems under direct responsibility- Preparation and execution of SVT campaigns (RTB‐SVT)- Support to the CS‐2 Project for all operational aspects and subsystem validation- Preparation for the CS‐2 Simulations campaign including support to the sim officer- Preparation and validation of the Flight Operations Plan- Interface with KSAT stations and mission agreement definition- Execution of LEOP, Commissioning and Routine Operations

- LEOP Team B System and Payload Operation Engineer- Participation in Simulation Campaign and LEOP- FOP validation

- Prime responsible for the Attitude and Orbit Control Subsystem (AOCS)- Main interface with the Flight Dynamics Department for the definition of the commandsfor Cryosat as well as all the products requested by the mission- SVT preparation and support- LEOP and commissioning phase definition- Support to spacecraft and ground segment reviews- FOP production and validation- MCS and Simulator Acceptance

- Support to the senior system engineer on the different aspects as thermo‐mechanic,communication, electrical and EMC.- Definition of the assembly, integration and verification activities, mechanical, structuraland electrical design as well as tests at development and qualification stages
