Franco has had a long history of technical expertise throughout his 35 year career in the IT industry. Through his past roles as a hardware customer engineer and team leader, IBM z/OS system controller and system engineer and more recently as part of the IBM Server Solutions Technical Sales Team, he is recognized for his expertise and technical leadership around IBM Z servers, storage subsystems and embedding hardware features and functions.As a customer engineer team-lead, Franco was responsible for supporting a number of Swiss clients to keep their IT services continuously up and available. Franco accepted a challenge to broaden his knowledge, when he began a three year training program at a major Swiss insurance company qualifying as a systems controller. In this role, he and his teammates where responsible for keep the IT services available on a seven by twenty-four hour basis. This included fist level support for hardware as well as software in the IBM Z environment. Franco was also responsible for high availability and disaster recovery deployment and maintenance.In his current role as Client Technical Specialist, Franco is seen as a subject matter expert for IBM Z server hardware technology within IBM DACH. Franco has helped clients around Switzerland and Austria in adoption of IBM Z server features and functions as well as in uninterrupted migration from one server generation to the next. He also provides technical expertise in support of clients during complex migration tasks.Francos reputation as a technical expert extends outside of IBM as well. Over the years he has participates as co-author for several „IBM Redbooks“ where he showed his in-depth knowledge by describing procedures and hints in deploying new features and functions.Specialties and skills: Data Center Hardware Configuration Planning, HCD, FICON, eConfig and zPCR, high availability, customer resolution management, customer and business partner enablement and training.
