Senior Software Engineering ConsultantFb Consultoria - Brazil Oct 2023 - PresentActual Project: building a data pipeline (batch and streaming).In this project, I helped develop a data pipeline for a company that was experiencing major performance issues in several legacy reports and dashboards offered to its customers.Since the company runs entirely on-premise, it was not possible to use data platform services offered by Cloud Providers or specialized services, such as AWS Glue, DataBricks, Confluent Kafka, etc. This fact made the technical challenge even greater, but very interesting.The architecture of this project consisted of 3 macro components. They were:An API for starting and managing ETL workflows;An API for consuming processed/aggregated data. It was offered to several services and components of the company, such as an Angular application, mobile application and even third parties;A backend service for processing queues;Batch processing were used to handle historical data (more than 10 years of transactional information) and streaming processing to handle new transactions (near realtime).AWS Glue and Data Bricks were used as a reference for the architecture and implementation of this project, especially for the ETL processes.Since the volume of data is quite significant, with more than 200,000 daily events, there had to be a lot of parallelism in the processing, with retries capabilities and concerns about idempotency.Technologies used:.Net 8.0, C#, Sql Server, Prometheus (Metrics and Logs)

These softwares are widely recognized in the Brazilian hotel industry.Experiences:- The first product built at HSystem was a huge challenge for me because given its integration nature with the giant online hotel sales players (Booking.com and Expedia). This product integrates with hundreds of APIs of the hotel sales channels and standardizes the management of hundreds of hotel sales channels in a single system.- I was responsible for the relationship with these players at HSystem and helping develop and maintain the integration with their APIs.- Another important demand imposed by these players was adherence to the PCI Compliance standard, in which I had the opportunity to specialize.- In general the main architectural model used in the HSystem softwares is micro-services using the building blocks proposed in DDD and Cloud First Principles. - In this experience I learned in considerable detail about several AWS services, including AWS Lambda, AWS SQS, Elastic Cache, and others.- Another important HSystem product that i led was an e-commerce platform specialized for hotel sales.- One of the main focuses of the development of this product was on the frontend. - Concepts such as usability, responsiveness, SEO were considered in the development.
