Francois Greck, Architect DPLG and Interior Designer, established himself in Laos in 1989. He is the Owner and Principal of Ateliers de la Peninsule and Peninsula Engineering.Francois was one of the first foreigners to arrive in Laos, when the Laos was still under the Soviet-Union era, and prior to Laos opening itself to International Development Funding Organizations programs and Private Sector Investments.This very early arrival allowed Francois Greck to witness and learn about the traditional Lao society and various Lao hill tribes' pristine cultures, prior to the fast changing development period that Laos embarked into in the early 90’s.Before establishing his Architecture firm Ateliers de la Peninsule in 1993, Francois Greck spent his first four years in Laos studying Lao traditional architectures and cultures, which allowed him to get an exceptional social and scientific knowledge of the Lao society and culture.
