Helping the effects department out with the creation of dust, steam, smoke etc. needed.

Helped establish and integrate a crowds department into the current Triggerfish pipeline. Provided guidance for a team of interns into creating animation for shots requiring large numbers of background characters. Built a library of animation cycles for use in different scenarios. Worked closely with the TD and relevant departments in getting the crowds integrated with the shots. Helped troubleshooting any technical difficulties discovered during the initial setup phase. Would receive a brief from the Director about the idea he has in his mind for the crowds, if there was anything specific they should do apart from reacting to what is happening in any given shot. I would then plan out the shots and assign it to the team of interns, making sure they each receive a similar amount of work. Would also shift them around with regards to the shots they work on as needed especially when shot fixes came in.

Created the motion, gestures and expressions for characters to bring life to them. Received a brief from the Director where he described what he was expecting from each shot. Planned the shot using thumbnails and shown the Director for approval. Once approved went ahead and did some rough blocking of the key poses. Once the blocking got approved moved along to start refining the animation paying attention to timing, spacing and all the other principles of animation. Attended the dailies to make sure my shots fitted in with the flow of the shots surrounding it.
