What do famous great speeches; the best actors; popular role models; great masters in architecture, literature and art all have in common?The answer lies for me in a very simple quote from the movie Serendipity, “The Greeks didn’t write obituaries. They only asked one question after a man died: Did he have passion?”.Although not being entirely historically correct, it does capture the essence of what we should strive for in life. The Greeks however had it right when they said that the secret to living life to the fullest lies in cultivating one’s personal passions. In essence, passion does not discover you; you develop it over a long time by pursuing interests from which you derive immense fulfillment and pleasure.I live by this philosophy by focusing on that which I really enjoy and are worth pursuing passionately.
