MAZ Laboratory was a start-up developing proprietary technologies for distributed real-time home automation simulation systems. The technologies include a development environment using a fully 3D interface. After the development of a prototype, MAZ Laboratory intended to built-up a team to produce a demo in this field. This demo was intended to be presented in congresses and shows to prospect companies and investors.In this context, the mission was:- Design the demo with the direction- Manage the development and IT team of 4 individualsSuccess:An initial evaluation of the work was 2.5 months with a trained team using Agile software development process. The demo was progressively designed and reviewed to be finally delivered within 3 months with documentation. Final tuning was performed in collaboration with the marketing team. The project was canceled because of the financial difficulties of the company.

Formerly A2M game company, renamed Behavior interactive, develops video games for all type of game platform. The objectives of a technical production director are to manage the various technical production departments, e.g integration, sound conception, and test, to deliver outstanding games above to the client's specifications. As a team leader, my mission included handling some human resources tasks in collaboration with the HR department (hiring, firing, annual evaluation). As a department lead, the involvement in the definition, in the deployment of methodologies and in selected director committees is necessary.The mission- Management of the technical production consisting of 3 departments (25 employees overall)- Schedule of video games production, building teams and supervising work in progress- Act within management to enhance communication and organization between departments- Motivate each department involving each employee in a reflection on their objectives as members of the company and on their working methodologiesSuccess:During this lap of time, my teams delivered 3 games in a really short time on all PS1, PS2 (outstanding at this time for the company) and Game Boy Advanced platforms. This challenge was achieved by a total implication in terms of motivation and technical decisions as well as in work schedule and workload.

D’nA develops computer graphics tools that address virtual movie production company needs, in this specific case, Taarna Studio. In this context, D’nA produces 2 software, Flesh which includes a modeler and a 3D painter and LifeSource a solution for motion capture issues and shapes motion editing. Added to these two software products, Dn’A develops a face expression capture system NuFace to be connected to LifeSource. The NuFace system includes a physical part, the helmet linked to an arm with a camera at the extremity. This system plugged to a standalone computer through a video capture interface is connected to the system running LifeSource through an internet connection.Mission:The system was partly designed when I entered the project as the lead but many options were to define regarding the camera and the lighting on one hand and on the processing on the other hand:- Realized the system- Supervised the production of the NuFace system (1 employee + 1 partial time resource)- Defined the major research axis and the solution to evaluateThe initial schedule was 7 month. The system has been delivered in a time frame of 9 months. Some specific problems mostly related to the selection of the camera and of the lighting had not been properly evaluated. Since its deployment, NuFace is commonly used in a production context.Mission:Once deployed, some development and integration around the Flesh was my second mission. I had a chance to solve a few crashes in the application and to improve and develop a few basic features.

Thales (former Thomson-CSF) is a company involved in defense producing many armed systems, surveillance systems and so on. Two missions challenged me at Thales. The first one as a member of a huge project of driving simulator (tank and plane). A second on a small system of torpedo launcher where a position of team leader was given to me. I had the chance and honor to organize, schedule, revise the technical specifications and conduct the final review, by the customer, of the system along with a review procedure that was written by myself.
