Country DirectorDevelopment Media International Jun 2016 - Jul 2017OuagadougouDevelopment Media International runs evidence-based radio, TV and mobile campaigns to change behaviours and save lives in developing countries. DMI ran the first successful scientific trial to show that radio can change behaviours. DMI's office in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso was established in 2010 and hosts a team of 34 people, 15 of who write, translate and record messages for radio stations in 5 local languages. DMI collaborates with 32 local radio stations all over Burkina Faso. We are currently running a randomised controlled trial (RCT) of a family planning radio campaign on eight radio stations across Burkina Faso. We are also running a nationwide radio campaign promoting treatment-seeking behaviours for child survival (targeting pneumonia, malaria and diarrhoea). We recently concluded a randomised controlled trial (RCT) of a child survival radio campaign on seven radio stations across Burkina Faso. -
