Frances began her career as a volunteer teacher with Teach for China 美丽中国, where she lived and worked in a remote village for two years. Paying witness to innumerable challenges, such as the lack of quality education, rural poverty, poor public health, and gender inequality, she set down on a path to empower the lives around her, especially through education & youth development, sustainability and social entrepreneurship. After leaving the village, Frances pursued a decade-long career in education management, working first as a senior manager at a leading education consulting firm in Shanghai, then by joining the Keru 课儒 team in its early start-up stage. At Keru, she worked to empower young leaders to engage in meaningful projects servicing rural communities and NGOs across China and Southeast Asia. Under her leadership, Keru grew from <100 students to welcome over 1,500 students to drive positive social change in over 30+ communities across Asia. During her time at Keru, Frances fostered and maintained strong relationships with a group of diverse stakeholders, including local Chinese governmental bodies, top tier international schools, prestigious US-based universities, the US Consulate, as well as numerous non-profit organizations and education firms. As the company’s spokesperson, Frances has held numerous public presentations in English and Mandarin.Throughout her executive career, Frances has developed strong skill sets in company operations, business strategy & development, financial analysis & tracking, HR recruitment & staffing, marketing, product development and bonus & incentives scheme building. Frances holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a dual B.A. in East Asian Studies and Philosophy.
