With years of work experience in various fields, I have developed a diverse set of competencies and skills that enable me to serve and help others. My mission is to provide trauma informed care and support to youth at risk, using my knowledge and training in clinical psychology. I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University, while working as a Youth Care Worker at Southwest Key Programs, one of the largest providers of services to unaccompanied children in the United States.I am responsible for the direct care and supervision of the youth in the residential facility. I ensure their safety, well-being, and development, while facilitating their reunification with their families or sponsors. I also assist with the implementation of educational, recreational, and therapeutic activities, and provide guidance and mentoring to the youth. Some of the skills that I utilize in this role are trauma informed care, youth mentoring, crisis intervention, communication, listening, problem-solving, and cultural sensitivity.
