I manage an academic peer-reviewed journal, which includes receiving, reviewing, and editing submissions. I correspond with all authors, peer-reviewers, as well as the editorial board. I manage the AR for the journal. I also manage the journal’s social media presence and website. As such, I compose all publicly available content produced by the journal (outside of peer-reviewed content).

I am currently working on full-length documentary film as co-director and editor. The film is due to wrap in late Spring/early Summer.

I work as a freelance journalist for The American University in Cairo (AUC) Office of Communications. I am responsible for securing and conducting interviews with individuals within the AUC academic community. I write and edit articles primarily covering academic and scientific issues.

Professor Tania Kamal El Din and I co-directed a short student film that has been selected to be screen at five film festivals. The film was screened a multiple international film festivals. It was awarded best student short by the Canada Shorts-Canadian & International Film Festival and selected as a finalist and semi-finalist in two other festivals. I was also the cinematographer, sound producer and editor (for details see Film and Video Production).

I managed the social media presence for the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (JRMC) at AUC. I am a Hootsuite Certified Professional, which is the social media management platform utilized to maintain the department's social media presence. I redesigned the look and layout of all of the department's social media accounts. I developed and executed innovative campaigns to increase engagement with departmental employees, professors, alumni and current students. Engagement increased tremendously as a result of my account management.

I work for The Cairo Review of Global Affairs as a journalist, junior editor and fact checker. I am responsible for securing and conducting interviews with visiting high-profile individuals. Prior to his resignation, I fact-checked articles for the magazine's founder and former editor, Scott MacLeod (the former Middle East bureau chief for TIME Magazine). I have learned the fact checking and editing methods utilized by TIME Magazine.

I work as a freelance journalist and am responsible for sourcing and pitching novel, interesting and timely stories to editors. I arrange all interviews, many with prominent individuals within the Egyptian community, and conduct all interviews in person. I am involved in brainstorming issue themes. I write and edit articles covering sports, social issues, fashion, and travel. Often, I am the primary photographer for the print and online edition of my published articles.

I work with the social media team to determine which blogs and topics drive the most traffic to the company website. I edit video for USA Football, which I post to the company website. I managed a company that manufactures high-tech aromatherapy and quit-smoking devices. I communicated company-wide goals to employees and ensured these goals were met. During my tenure with Vapir, I implemented progressive public relations and sales strategies that included the following: unique product names, slogans, logos, marketing material and product packaging. Further, I wrote all company literature for public consumption and creatively engaged our customers through social marketing. I wrote and managed blogs, press releases and the company Twitter and Facebook accounts. Through this creative outlet I was able to ensure the financial growth of the company during trying economic times from $750,000 in 2006 to $4.5 million in sales in 2012. I assisted in the design, creation and testing of all new products. My voice was utilized for incoming and outgoing messages for the company phone system. I co-produced and acted in Vapir introduction and quick-start videos, which can be viewed at Vapir.com. I co-managed the company website and regularly updated it. I remotely trained domestic and international customers through various web-based platforms. I managed the IT team located in India. I hired and managed all independent contractors. I oversaw shipping and receiving and worked closely with the office manager to ensure proper management of inventory. I coordinated booths at trade shows both nationally and internationally. I maintained and serviced all national and international accounts. I sourced, contacted and opened new markets throughout Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Latin America. I gathered and calculated the end of quarter and end of year NET and GROSS earnings for company records and tax purposes. I wrote performance evaluations and communicated these assessments during one-on-one meetings with employees.

I managed and scheduled all employees at a manufacturing company of cutting edge quit-smoking devices. I communicated with large wholesale and distribution customers and recruited new accounts domestically and internationally. I assisted in editing all company product manuals and web content. I attended and managed tradeshows both domestically and internationally. At the 2006 CES (Consumer Electronics) Trade Show in Las Vegas, I was selected by the HGTV (Home and Garden TV Channel) producer to present our product on camera to be showcased in their “new products” television program. During my tenure with Advanced Inhalation Revolutions, Inc., I was able to grow the company to become profitable enough to be sold to a Silicon Valley investor in late 2006. Incumbent in the sale was my agreement to move to San Jose, CA (Silicon Valley) to continue active management of the company directly.
