Originally from Southern California I was drawn first to the Bay Area in the early 80's. Now I am here in Portland attracted by its easy proximity to both the ocean and mountains, the amazing food, and the beauty of changing seasons which make it a perfect home base. I love exploring the US and the world and my ongoing expeditions helps me to have a balanced perspective and understanding of diverse cultures which make up my clientele. The Portland move opens a new chapter with places to explore, food and wine to try, and people to meet and learn from. I studied Interior design in the late 70s and have been practicing and honing my skills for over 35 years experience I value each client and the opportunity to work with them and their distinct individuality. My dry and quirky sense of humor encourages a lively and exciting interaction. Allowing them relax and enjoy the process. Never forgetting that it is their home we are designing. My refined art of listening to my client’s needs and ideas give me the ability to access their true desires. A playful collaboration with each client, helps me to minimize their stress, condensing the multitude of choices into a select few to complete the project. Important conversations always include spacial constraints, color, texture, lighting, hard vs soft surfaces, sound absorption, scale, privacy, children and pets. The selection of furniture, art and its proper placement.Other considerations have included downsizing, physical abilities and aging. Each new client has their own set of challenges and opportunities to create a wonderful home.Helping enrich their home allows them to live in a beautiful and nurturing environment, this is my passion.
