Briefing and motivation of all crew members to ensure a cohesive, team approach to the flight ahead.Liaised with all parties concerning the pre dispatch phase, ensuring a safe, efficient and punctual departure. Dealt with and provided guidance on all unusual occurrences affecting the flight departure which were of an operational nature.Operated the aircraft in accordance with standard operating procedures ensuring the safest and most efficient operation throughout all phases of flight.Performed all post flight duties and debriefings / report writing when necessary.

As Fleet Manager, I was responsible for all pastoral and disciplinary processes and the application of agreed reward programmes for the pilots. Roster stability and fairness was an important responsibility of the role, as this is one of the core requirements for a happy, stable pilot workforce.Being a company in which it was important for the employees to feel valued, the reward scheme and positive feedback played a crucial part in getting the most out of the pilots. This resulted in the majority of the workforce being willing to "go the extra mile" on the odd occasion when it was required.Another very important function of the role was my involvement in monthly meetings with the Pilot Union representative. Here, all issues were discussed and either resolved, or taken on to the quarterly meetings with the BALPA consultative council. The resulting relationship with the union was based on trust and respect which bore fruit for both parties.During this time I was also a Type Rating Instructor and Base Trainer.In 2002, the company was bought by easyJet and Imwas one of three Regional Base Managers, responsible for the bases of Stansed, East Midlands and Bristol.
