Site Superintendent for two projects throughout the season D264645 and D264667 – a Multi-site paving project that covered 9 roads throughout Saratoga, Washington, and Warren Counties. I was responsible for the safety of the men & women on the job site at all times (including subs). Every morning before our shift I would conduct a “Pre Task Plan” –in short, this form reviewed the day’s tasks, associated hazards, and what we could do to be as safe and efficient as possible. I also completed “Play of the Day” forms for foremen – these would show which pay item they were working on for the day and how many units were needed to meet production. Responsibilities also included outlook schedules (3-week), scheduling subcontractors, scheduling trucks, daily planning and working closely with the NYSDOT EIC and inspectors to ensure quantities were being tracked and paid for appropriately. All foremen reported directly to me. I worked closely with the PM to determine the most efficient and cost effective way to build each project. I approved timecards weekly (via B2W Track) and was involved in cost projections on a monthly basis. Tasks such as cost coding tickets were also my responsibility.

Member of Cashless Tolling Constructors, J.V. (CTC) for this entire period. CTC is comprised of three contractors – A Servidone Inc., Rifenburg Construction Inc., and Economy Paving Co. A Servidone handled Section 1 of the Cashless Tolling Project – Exit 22 to Exit 16 and Exit B1 to B3. My duties included: identifying design issues and working with designers to come up with a solution; reviewing, submitting, and tracking submittals; RFI submissions; scheduling subcontractors, internal manpower logistics on a daily and weekly basis; monitoring their work, quantities, and payments; weekly payroll; weekly lane closure requests to NYSTA; odometer tracking on equipment (for both cost and maintenance purposes); internal quantity and cost tracking with monthly cost report (cost to complete) updates; daily HeavyJob timecard review; working with CPM sub; tracking and compiling T&M work – agreed prices and force account summaries; working closely with Quality Control (M&J Engineering), Quality Assurance (WSP Engineering), and NYSTA in order to identify and mitigate issues so the project could finish on time and on budget. Foremen reported to me and I worked closely with each of them and the superintendents. When the work died down on Cashless Tolling over the winter, I helped the estimating department with bids – soliciting quotes, plugging items and productions into HeavyBid, and any other general estimating duties. One example of a bid I assisted with (although we were unsuccessful) was the Castleton Bridge Project.

I was promoted and relocated to Barrett Paving's sister company HRI, Inc. My title was PM but I spent much of my time on sites as Site Super.

I was selected to move to theLitchfield asphalt plant and quarry in order to gain experience and knowledge of the manufacturing side of the industry. Responsibilities included scheduling, ordering new parts, overseeing maintenance, production, and QC.
