This $3.8M FEMA funded project consisted of removing over 4,800 trees and pruning over 70 trees that were damaged during the 2017 Sonoma County wildfires.• Resident Engineer on two Streetscape Improvements project for Bay Area Transportation Authority (BATA). This $2.4M mitigation project constructed four bio-retention basins along San Pablo Avenue in four cities in Alameda County.• Resident Engineer on the River Road Rehabilitation Project for Sonoma County Public Works. This $3.1M federally funded project consisted of the repair existing pavement structural section and the placement of a 0.20-foot overlay rubberized asphalt concrete over a 4.83-mile section of River Road.• Resident Engineer on the Bardin Routes To School Improvements Project for the City of Salinas. This $7.9M federally funded project consist of the construction of two round-abouts, over 23,000 SY of full depth reclamation, construction of 10 bioretention areas, relocation of water lines by the local utility company, and improving the pedestrian and bicycle facilities through the area.• Project Manager on the North Road Pump Station and Force Main Rehabilitation for the City of Belmont. This $4.1M rehabilitation project to install 3,200 linear feet of 12-inch high-density polyethylene (HDPE) sanitary sewer force main, decommission the existing pump station, and construct a new pump station. Responsible for leading a team to perform constructability reviews of 90% and 100% project plans and specifications.

Santa Clara Valley Water District, Upper Guadalupe Reach 6, San Jose, CA Senior Project Engineer/Quality Control Manager – Mr. Cannizzaro was responsible for the Storm Water Prevention Plan Program (SWPPP), Quality Control, Coordination of Field Construction, as well as Project Management duties. The scope of this project included the construction of a new flood control channel and the upgrade of existing concrete structures within the Guadalupe River. The work included the excavation and off-haul of 190,000 CY of dirt, demolition of existing concrete features, construction of the Virginia Street Bridge, construction of a 17’ high by 300’ long retaining wall, installation and removal of two water diversion systems, fish relocation, and construction of concrete channel lining. Caltrans – Route 101 Widening Millbrae to 3rd, San Mateo County, CA Senior Project Engineer/AC Sampler SWPPP Manager – Mr. Cannizzaro assisted the project manager in managing the construction project to include coordination of subcontractor work, developed work plan/schedules for the crew, resolved constructability issues and tracked costs. The scope of work included the outside widening of approximately 4 miles of freeway, construction of over 4 miles of sound wall, and the construction of two pedestrian bridges and one vehicle bridge.

Resident Engineer/Senior Construction Engineer for Department of Transportation - Supervised and administered larger Highway construction projects including “Railroad Relocation for Cypress Project ($121M)” and “Cypress Freeway Replacement, Project Contract A ($88M).” Supervised and integrated administrative and inspection staff, identified and resolved hazardous materials release issues including vinyl chloride plumes, napthalene groundwater contamination, and petroleum hydrocarbon releases; designing and processing contract change orders and ensuring that contractors complied with all Federal, State and local regulations; identifying and resolving conflicts between contract documents and actual field conditions, coordinated with outside agencies as well as in the development and implementation of training programs for staff. Managed the Cypress Replacement Project Contract “A”, Tasman Interchange and Light Rail Bridges on I-80 ($20M), Forest Avenue and Heading Street Bridge Widening Project on I-80 ($300K), construction of a soundwall project on I-80 in Milpitas. Administered construction contracts, verified that work was performed according to project specifications, and that projects were completed on time. Responsible for keeping project costs within budget and monitored construction quality. Facilitated progress payments to General Contractors and their subcontractors, resolving conflicts between contract documents and actual field conditions.

As Assistant Transportation Engineer prepared plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E) for highway construction projects involving contaminated and hazardous materials. Integrated preparation of environmental impact reports with partially prepared plans and specifications, ensured that available remedial alternatives were included in bid specifications and plans; coordinated highway design processing operations and construction management teams. Project Engineer for utility relocation plans for Cypress “A” and Preliminary Design Study for the Benicia-Martinez Bridge Project. Senior Inspector on Route 101/25 Interchange Project in Gilroy and on I-80 HOV Lane Project in Santa Clara. Responsibilities focused on developing geometric design alternatives and preparing and analyzing associated cost estimates. Interfaced with data consulting firms and regulatory agencies for remedial design alternatives. Inspected construction and hazardous substance removal plans to assure compliance with overall project plans, specifications and design concepts.
