Mechanical engineer specialising in Finite Element Analysis, skilled and experienced with Abaqus, GENESIS, NASTRAN and LS-DYNA solvers. Demonstrated ability to approach engineering problems with a pragmatic and adaptable approach, whilst developing a strong relationship with the customer to drive projects through from conception to completion. A variety of skills to draw on to support project work, including coding in Python, VB.net, VBA, as well as CAD in Solid Works and NX Simcenter and most importantly a good understanding of engineering first principles.I have always had a passion for all things automotive and mechanical. A passion that I was able to develop through Secondary School and University in particular. Motorsport has always been a factor in my life and since 2017 I have been lucky enough to fulfil the childhood dream of being a Race Car Driver.... albeit at the lower echelons of motorsport, competing in the Citroen C1 Racing Endurance series- an experience made all the more enjoyable by sharing it with friends doubling up as team mates as we share the driving, car building & preparation, as well as the race weekend management.I have owned a 1972 Hillman Imp which since being retired from "Daily Driver" duty some years ago has become my own personal engineering project involving chassis structural changes to facilitate improved Vehicle Dynamics using the original vehicle layout/concept as well as a an approach to Powertrain modernisation that remains sympathetic to the original vehicle.My ability to learn/develop new skill sets, as well my embracing of challenges and hard work has been continually demonstrated through my personal life just as much as my professional one- most recently by my undertaking of the renovation of my first home.
