As one of a team of 8 Despatch Operatives I worked a 168-shift pattern week (2 days 2 nights – 12-hour shifts). Working as a team I shared good working practices, demonstrated a positive can-do attitude, adopted a safety-first mindset, demonstrated a flexible approach to working (supporting other departments), achieved performance targets as measured by the warehouse management system and other supporting systems and maintained a clean and a safe environment.Tasks included:• Processing orders for picking from computer system, checking accuracy.• Select order quantities for despatch.• Move orders into designated loading area, to enable safe and accurate loading.• Load orders onto designated trailers according to the load plan, to enable the safe and efficient distribution and offload of products.• Note any missing items and ensure they were added to order.• Record and pass on any product and loading information, to ensure full traceability and confirmation of finished stocks.• Understand and complied with all health and safety procedures, to ensure a safe working environment for self and others.• For catering orders Despatch Operatives were also responsible for the cardboard box machinery maintenance and repair and labelling production. • At checkpoint operatives were also responsible for ensuring the machinery supplying sliced and catering bread orders was running and to identify and report any problems in a timely and accurate manner to ensure bread continued to go into the picking warehouse. • Other responsibilities included handling waste and ensuring any bread that had passed the waste threshold date would not be picked

Work Experience - BeefQ Assistant Food Sampler (2020)BeefQ is a project to improve the eating quality and value of Welsh beef production through the testing and demonstration of an enhanced carcass quality grading system. I worked as part of a team and prepared meat products for sampling and market research. I ensured that all samples were prepared and served to the criteria set out and results collated for the company. I also maintained the cleanliness of the sampling areas and showcased good communication skills if a sampler had any queries regarding the process.
