I was a mechanical design engineering intern and used SolidWorks to defign fixtures for parts to be coated successfully in a vaccuum. In order for this to be done, one has to understand how a vaccuum works and how fluids flow under that type of pressure. Using that knowledge, I was able to successfully create fixtures for many parts with minimal areas of thin coating.
