I am a Professional Civil Engineer and a Certified Passive House Designer and Tradesperson. I designed, built and now live in one of the first Alberta homes built to the International Passive House Standard. Through my work as an Energy Efficiency Consultant, the Education Committee lead of Passive House Alberta and a Passive House Canada instructor, I help others learn how to achieve the benefits of building or renovating to a High Performance Building standard while minimizing the embodied and operational carbon and capital costs. I incorporate the Passive House standard, Permaculture, low carbon design and optimized Electrification to meet the goals and needs of my clients, while progressing along a zero on-site carbon and net-zero on-site energy pathway.The benefits include: increased comfort, much quieter, excellent indoor air quality and significant reduction in energy use and utility bills.My past work included being the project manager for office towers and mixed-use buildings, including buildings certified to LEED Gold and LEED Platinum. This included responsibility for team management, design development, estimating, budgeting, procurement, cost control and financial oversight.
