Communications systems experience included managing engineers, software developers and technicians providing design, sustainment, and operations support for television systems (cameras, camera lens and pan and tilt control, transmission, distribution, recording/playback). Data Transmission Systems providing command, telemetry, administrative data, television, and campus wide networking using technologies that evolved from wide bandwidth analog systems to a variety of digital transmission, data switching, and networking using copper and/or fiber-optic cable. Voice Systems providing point-to-point and point-to-multipoint baseband, large digital conferencing, audio recording, and paging and area warning. Photographic systems to include remotely operated 16 and 35 mm cameras with various lens and frame rates. A centrally programmed Photo-Optical Control System programmed to provide remote iris control and countdown sequenced camera starts. An Image Analysis Facility used to digitize and analyze both film and television imagery.Navigation Aids experience included managing engineers and technicians operating and maintaining the Space Shuttle Microwave Scanning Beam Landing System (MSBLS), Tactical Air Navigation System (TACAN), and remote weather stations. Systems were installed in the continental US and sites in Africa, Spain, and France. The systems provided long distance (TACAN) and near distance (MSBLS) azimuth and elevation data to Nav Sets on-board the Shuttle orbiter during landing.Launch Processing System experience focused on process improvements, automation of processes, and integrating other contractor support into Space Shuttle launch and landing operations.
