As a Surface Water Technician with the State of Wyoming DEQ, I collected water quality data from lakes, streams and reservoirs for the purpose of monitoring, maintaining and improving water quality. Work was primarily in the field, collecting data using State of Wyoming Stadard Operating Procedures. After the data was collected, I analyzed it in the office using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and RiverMORPH.

Lakewood Colorado

As a GIS Intern at the BLM Colorado State Office, I assisted in a large number of GIS related projects including developing ArGIS toolboxes using python programming, managing large data sets, creating maps and editing spatial data. My main role at this position was to manage a large geodatabase of roads and trails data. Managing this database involved working with field office GIS Specialists across the state as well as agencies outside of the BLM, including Colorado Parks and WIldlife.

Santa Fe, New Mexico

As an intern with the Petroleum Storage Tank Bureau, I had the opportunity to work with a variety of professionals and gain a large amount of experience in several areas. Some of the highlights of this internship included: assisting in the development of GoNewMexico online mapping software of closed leaking underground storage tanks, attending a water sampling workshop and conducted water sampling at a location in Los Alamos New Mexico, and interacting with professionals from a variety of fields on a daily basis in the office, the field and at professional seminars.
