With a positive outlook on life, infectious enthusiasm and energy, I am driven to achieve ambitious goals that really matter to the world we live in. I enjoy supporting others to be successful and strive to unlock the full potential of individuals, teams and business to make them stronger and enhance their future relevance both professionally and for society broadly. With a quick mind, a sense of intuition and open to new approaches, I am intellectually curious and relish solving complex challenges with creative, original solutions. These find their way into a strategic roadmap with exciting yet pragmatic implementation plans, pursued with determination. A solution orientation, a cool head and steady hand keep me on track when being faced with adversity. This leadership style, these communication skills and my sense of humour help me to inspire and motivate others, to overcome resistance to change and accelerate organisations towards outperforming ambitious goals. I get the greatest sense of satisfaction when achieving something no one thought possible. I am loyal and committed to others and I consider myself a man of integrity. An open mind, respect for different cultures, multiple perspectives and lifestyles has been cultivated through many years working abroad with a wide variety of people. An executive leadership role allowing me to champion the strategic transformation of a business faced by sustainability, digitalization or other macro challenges, leveraging my broad experience, personal traits & values is what I aspire most. During 23 years at Royal Dutch Shell, I enjoyed a variety of international general management, transformation, financial, commercial, business development and strategy leadership roles. At the Executive Board of the Deep Ocean Group, I contributed to the complex turnaround of that company following the bankruptcy of its American parent. At the Damen Shipyards Group, as Executive Board member, I contributed to its strong growth, development and professionalization, including sponsorship of Damen 2025, transformation of the Group’s structure and governance, finance, ICT & digitalization, compliance, and leadership development.
