    The department "Engine and Component Testing Muelheim" executes all kinds of tests for steam turbines, gas turbines and generators in laboratories, in our test fields, balancing bunkers and on sites world-wide.Furthermore, experimental studies at components and machine parts are executed for evaluation of condition and/or for qualification of new product developments or enhanced parts.Our laboratory equipment comprises among others a four-stage high-pressure (HP) turbine test bed, an HP injection nozzle test bed, an atmospheric combustion test bed, a test center for hot gas paths components, the actuator test bed as well as miscellaneous compressors and pumps for flow tests at models and components.The key tasks are in the area of vibration at rotating (e.g. blades, shafts) and non-rotating (e.g. end windings, casings, vanes) components, temperature, strain, acoustic, foundation displacement and flow measurements in power stations all over the world.Another important field of operation is online diagnostics of high voltage components in power plants, determining local material defects and dielectric signs of wear at relevant operating resources like e.g. the generator, deriving measures to maintain operational safety of these components.The development, design and application of telemetry measurement systems for wireless data transfer of physical parameters such as temperature, pressure or strain of rotating machine parts is part of our business, too.

The key tasks are in the area of vibration measurement, measurements of 3D-electric flow fields, pressure- and temperature distributions, dissipation factor measurement of blade profiles and heat transfer coefficients, foundation displacement measurements, acoustic noise measurements, the controller test bed as well as special measurements tailor-made to customer requirements.
