In 1985 I founded Fiber Instrument Sales, Inc. (FIS). Under my leadership FIS has become one of the leading distributors of fiber optic connectivity equipment in the nation. Because of our leading position in fiber optics we maintain one of the largest inventories in the US.I am also the president and founder of Giotto Enterprises, which is composed of seven companies, including FIS. The manufacturing companies within the group encompass a broad range of products and technologies. Capabilities include CNC machining, plastics injection molding, fiber optic cable manufacturing and more. Several of my business endeavors have been chronicled by national news media including CNN, NBC and the New York Times. Education is my passion. Originally, early in my career, I was a high school math teacher. Because of my passion for education, I pioneered the FIS Training Manual, a popular addition to the fiber optic curriculum taught at many colleges, universities, and technical schools. As a 1971 graduate of Utica College, I received my Bachelors degree in mathematics. I have also served as a member of my alma mater's Board of Directors. As native and advocate of the Utica New York region, I built and donated the twelve and a half story Utica Tower enjoyed by thousands.Outside of work I can be found enjoying my second passion, the Adirondack Mountains in New York State. I spend as much time as I can on Raquette Lake enjoying fishing and the beauty of the remoteness of the lake and mountains.
