As an AWS Cloud Support Engineer, I work on critical, highly complex customer problems that span multiple AWS services. Specialized in deployment related AWS technologies/services such as Cloudformation, EKS, ECS, Elastic Beanstalk, Code* and others; I assist our global list of companies and engineers that utilize the growing set of AWS services and features to run their mission-critical applications.On a daily basis, I apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide tailored solutions/answers to our Premium Support customers regarding specific AWS services within my domain. Outside of my domain, I partner with other teams and account managers to drive customer communications, assist with and resolve customer issues.Apart from working on technical issues, as an AWS engineer, I contribute towards a larger organizational impact by participating in hiring by interviewing candidates, coaching/mentoring new hires and continually raise the bar on the customer support experience through my work as a Quality Champion.

As a DevOps Engineer; I partnered with internal customers, technology teams, developers and application owners on a variety of different projects. By first understanding the business and technology requirements, I then; design, plan, and implement solutions to meet those needs and requirements. These projects have included:o Migrating and re-engineered legacy applications/databases from datacenters to the AWS Cloud.o Use new/existing applications to develop solutions/tools for business reporting and content management needs.o Creating high-availability infrastructure within the AWS Cloud for multi-layered architectures.o Creating and deploying automation/applications to support monitoring/logging/recovery.o Build, maintain and support CI/CD automation infrastructure. o Collaborating in the transformation from the DevOps model to a DevSecOps.Key accomplishments include the migration of a legacy application to the AWS Cloud using a hybrid approach to minimize downtime, maintain application connectivity to multiple databases and accommodate stakeholders, internal technology teams.In this position, I effectively collaborated as part of a fast-paced, customer-oriented team as well as worked as an independent contributor under broad management discretion on assigned projects that encompassed wide multi-disciplinary scopes.

As an applications engineer, I worked on a variety of engineering projects related to infrastructure automation. Using a mixture of technologies such as PowerShell, Orchestrator, Jenkins, GitHub as well as some in-house applications, I worked on:o Scripted automation of application deployments.o Workflow based automation of application deployments.o Deployment/configuration of automated server monitoring and remediation.o Virtualization of bare metal servers.In addition to these projects, my operational responsibilities included; capacity planning, application release deployment(and its automation), incident response and remediation, creating/maintaining documentation for all support and engineering tiers, application support and managing the application environment infrastructure.Key accomplishments include automating application release deployment through the use of PowerShell scripts and later, building a proof-of-concept work flow based automation for application release deployment in Orchestrator.

My primary responsibilities at Demand Media’s operations center were focused around Tier 2 operations such as; advanced monitoring of alerts and issues, performing initial troubleshooting/assessment and incident resolution in a production environment comprised of over 3500 Internet-facing servers and their network infrastructure. This environment included several remote offices, Linux and Windows-based web and database servers running PHP, mySQL, Apache, IIS, and SQLServer as well as a host of custom and in-house applications.In addition to my operational responsibilities, I also worked with our engineers and business unit owners to produce; troubleshooting guides, media site/property technical overviews, and end-to-end infrastructure documentation. As part of my Tier 2 responsibilities, I performed escalation audits, trained our off-shore Tier 1 teams and developed troubleshooting content for our internal wiki/knowledgebase.

As a Tier 2 Operations Engineer at the MXPS Operations Center, I worked in support of the Microsoft Internet presence, www.microsoft.com and other Microsoft owned Internet properties as part of a 24/7 team that provided immediate advanced support, troubleshooting, incident management and resolution expertise for escalated issues, alerts, and events. While onsite, I interfaced with systems engineers and database administrators for closer cooperation and coordination on projects spanning server security patching, hardware/networking issues, and procedures documentation. I was responsible for maintaining/applying server security updates across the 2000+ Microsoft.com server environment; troubleshooting and escalating infrastructure issues from operations monitoring or as reported by systems engineers. My projects included; automating(via PowerShell scripts) server security updates across the Microsoft.com server environment, development of troubleshooting guides for specific servers and environments, documentation of processes and procedures, update and maintenance of the in-house SQL driven web application to monitor server security update status.

As a Computer Specialist for the FAA, I was the intranet webmaster and primary web developer for the Northwest Directorate as well as a developer and local content manager on the national team responsible for the public-facing Internet website. My duties included the development and programming of dynamic, database-driven, web applications as well as managing public website content. In addition, I also did database design/development and provided tier 2-3 Help Desk inventory and deployment support.Notable Projects:• Development and implementation of an inventory management database that integrated custom programmed mobile barcode scanners with a web-based front end.• Designed and developed a graphical user interface and tiered data-structure for a national “Dashboard” system to provide status and information on high profile initiatives, programs, and projects. • Created from concept to completion, Flash animations to illustrate complex engineering concepts and principles in a simplified format for “lessons learned” presentations.• Evaluation, selection and migration to web content management software for the national Aircraft Certification website.• Review and implementation of standards and practices to incorporate plain language principles and compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards into existing public Internet content.

At RSL Interactive, I was the lead developer and webmaster for all client and company-owned websites. My duties included the development and maintenance of both static HTML websites and dynamic, database-driven websites, as well as database administration.Development projects included; “inception to production” of dynamically generated websites containing SQL-based search engines, interactive user event calendars, online auctions, eCommerce processing, professional industry surveys, and content update automation, as well as management systems incorporating web-based content and data entry interfaces. Notable applications include dynamic data-driven user response questionnaires, electronic commerce setup/integration for online shopping user interfaces and online auction engines.Additional development responsibilities included database schema design and implementation for a variety of applications from auctions and online sales to industry surveys and a 50,000 item event database and search engine. Plus, management of Internet domain names, records and website logs and their servers.My team responsibilities included management of a six-person programming/technical/production staff, new employee training and orientation, task scheduling and prioritization as well as production management of website development and maintenance.

Responsibilities included assisting in the design of a facsimile storage and forwarding network, incorporating simulated voice user interface and system networking. Development of a digital local area cellular telephone exchange network, incorporating both ZCM(Zero Crossing Modulation) and voice channel encryption.Additional responsibilities included assisting in the production of technical proposals, technical writing and editing, reliability studies and MTBF calculations using DoD-2000 algorithms. Functioned as company contact with parts vendors with duties including writing of parts requirements and specifications.

Programmed and edited online intranet employee information manual. Duties included editing of manual content, graphic design and layout, user interface design, concept design and incorporation/manipulation of multimedia design elements.

Responsibilities included the development of testing systems and procedures for indicator/switch control panels for aviation, naval and military applications. Design and construction of test fixtures for indicator/switch panels. Consultation on the design and testing of next generation high reliability indicator/switch panels.

Performed as an on-site consultant to ABLE clients on telecommunication systems testing. Duties included development and execution of independent testing procedures as well as system troubleshooting.Additional duties included design and installation of a PC LAN. Maintaining and updating "on-file" reports on key industry topics as well as updating profiles on companies within the industry. Other duties included maintenance of the company databases.
