I'm now an old guy. My career includes 32 years of US Navy and Joint military experience, 31 years as a business owner, 19 years as a government contractor, and 21 years as a Department of Defense civil servant. These efforts have overlap because I'm not big on doing one thing at a time. My Navy experience (both active duty and reserves) includes deck watches, engineering, amphibious operations, carrier aviation, flight instruction, tactical air control, HQ tours, and Joint exercise control. As a government contractor I was a flight simulator instructor, training/curriculum developer, T&E simulation analyst, and Joint Exercise operator-trainer. As a government civil servant I was the COMSEC Manager for TRADOC, the network team lead of USJFCOM’s Joint Experimentation Directorate, and for 15 years a computer scientist supporting Joint interoperability and integration, retiring from civil service in July 2020 as the Tactical Integration Branch Chief within the Joint Staff J6. I also got to support local drinking establishments around the world. Still wanting to contribute led me to joining Combat Bound, a company that is inherently dedicated to improving the lot of “those that eat the MRE’s” through innovation and improvements in Lethality, Protection, and Rescue. Plus we have a Cyber/IT services division that is now diversifying into other areas.My edumacayshun includes a BS in Physical Science, an MBA in Management, and a NDU DoD Chief Information Officer certificate. Military training/schools includes: 4 years at Canoe U (Naval Academy), Surface Warfare School, Damage Control Assistant/NBC Officer, Navy Flight School, Joint C4I Operator’s Course, and Information Operations Planner. My interests include sailing, beer (brewing and drinking), hiking, and charitable work as a member of the Knights of Columbus. I live in Hampton Roads VA with my long-suffering wife of 40+ years and two rescue critters.
