Dr. Frank I. Mullins is an Associate Professor of Management in the College of Business, University of Alabama in Huntsville. He is also a Fellow of the Institute for the Study for Employee Ownership and Profit Sharing at Rutgers University, and a former Academic Affairs Faculty Fellow for the University of North Carolina System. Prior to returning to UAH, Dr. Mullins was the inaugural Fred ’78 and Sue Newton Endowed Professor of Human Resource Management at the University of Rhode Island, and had previously served on the business faculty at North Carolina A&T State University.Dr. Mullins’ research agenda examines how corporate governance, namely boards of directors, family governance, and large shareholders, influence HRM practices in organizations. His research is published in prestigious academic journals including Human Resource Management and the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior & Research. Dr. Mullins earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration and MBA from Syracuse University and Bachelor’s degree from Oakwood University. During his PhD studies, he further enriched his knowledge in having been an Exchange Scholar at Cornell University in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations, and an Elon Pre-Doctoral Fellow at Elon University.Dr. Mullins' dedication to teaching and research has been recognized with numerous awards and honors, including the Outstanding Faculty Member Award from the UAH College of Business, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Award from the UAH Minority Graduate Student Association, the Best Research Paper Award from the UAH College of Business, and the Junior Faculty Teaching Excellence Award from North Carolina A&T State University.Before his academic career, Dr. Mullins gained valuable real-world experience in HRM at the IBM Corporation, working across various areas including compensation, staffing, employee relations, corporate learning and diversity.
