I help businesses build relationships with their customers through words and data. Most recently I’ve been writing B2B and B2C content for LinkedIn, Coursera, and HackerRank (e.g., ebooks, reports, blog posts, case studies), ghostwriting for thought leaders in various industries (e.g., tech, law, fashion, venture capital, recruiting) and creating content for employers (e.g., social media profiles, ads, and job postings.) In my previous life I wrote scientific articles.What makes me tick is the process itself - the genre and topic matter less. I enjoy pulling together seemingly disparate information, taking an angle, and crafting a story that ties everything together. My idea of fun is meticulously turning and rearranging words until they fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. Seriously. It is. I love the research part of writing just as much, and know how to get up to speed on a business quickly. I know how to dig into a topic and ask the right questions, and collect and analyze data. I'm a stickler for good survey design, and love the thrill of weeding through numbers and stringing together a narrative.I’ve hit my professional sweet spot because work doesn’t feel like work. I write in my free time too: stories and poems for my children, songs for my friends, and reflections on current events for myself.Whether it’s for work or for play, I’m often clickity-clacking away at my computer, fully engrossed and happy as a clam.When I'm not writing, I'm reading psychology and neuroscience books. I can't get enough of them. My favorite topics include the science of happiness, motivation, persuasion, and decision-making.And then there's running - I'm addicted to marathons, and I run just about every day. Finally, raising my three children trumps my other passions by a long shot. It's the most fun, challenging, fascinating, and rewarding job I've ever had.
