• Oversaw the disbursal of Community Development Block Grant funds to local nonprofit organizations from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and assisted these organizations in maintaining compliance within HUD guidelines• Acted as the point of contact from the City to Community Development Corporations, nonprofits, and other community based organizations; was responsible building meaningful relationships with local organizations in order to maximize transparency and efficiency between the City and contractees• Drafted, reviewed, edited, and monitored Community Development Block Grant contracts for a wide variety of different organizations on a yearly basis • Frequently attended community engagement events across the city, assisting different divisions within the Department of Community Development on engagement process and community outreach initiatives

• Assisted in the creation and development of Ohio City Inc.’s Lets Clear the Air initiative, aimed at assessing and improving air quality in the Ohio City Neighborhood• Assisted on the drafting and submission of several grants to fund the continuation of the Let’s Clear the Air initiative following the internship’s conclusion• Successfully implemented air quality and soil moisture monitors within Ohio City to monitor for particulate matter and soil moisture data, and developed a GIS web application to publicly display this data• Worked with various community focus groups and stakeholders to ensure public opinion led the process of Let’s Clear the Air’s assessment and remediation of neighborhood air quality

• Monitored utility consumption across NRP’s portfolio of 200+ multifamily housing developments and addressed consumption and billing issues when necessary• Utilized Geographic Information Systems to import site data from NRP’s properties into US EPA EnergyStar Portfolio Manager• Assisted in the creation of NRP Environmental Impact Committee, dedicated to adopting and implementing sustainability practices across all aspects of the company, and presented the committee’s foundation plan to company executives• Participated in dozens of professional development sessions
