Serving with Midwestern University allowed me to actively take part in providing safe and effective vaccination efforts against SARS-CoV-2. Working under the supervision of the directing physician we educated patients, administered vaccination and monitored patients post-injection.

As a researcher in a biochemistry and molecular genetics lab, my thesis project aimed at identifying the role of the ARID1A subunit of the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeler in homologous recombination. My thesis involved experiments assessing the properties of DNA damage repair proteins affected by ARID1A to evaluating the potential of PARP inhibitor therapies in homologous recombination deficient cancers.

As a tutor for Midwestern University I assisted the masters students of biomedical sciences in course work such as: Biochemistry, Physiology, Human Genetics, and Medical Microbiology. I helped produce lesson plans to assist students whose academic performance was being hindered.

As a teaching assistant for Dr. Kristjansdottir I participated in the teachings of research design and methodology to incoming biomedical science students. I helped produce tailored experiments and lesson plans to assist students in refining experimental procedures and calculations. The implementation of lessons learned offer students the ability to perform adequately in their future research.

As a research assistant, I worked primarily with physically inactive middle-aged adults testing the effects of multi-modal cognitive training on consequential exercise self-regulation. I acquired significant experience in performing protocols monitoring subject's heart rate, blood pressure, and other vitals during exercise. My tasks also included assisting in the gathering, recording and quantifying of research data. This experience significantly expanded my basic science skillset.

As a personal trainer, I lead individualized workouts incorporating aerobic and anaerobic excises. I worked with individuals with physical disabilities to evaluate fitness levels, set goals, assist in the performance of exercise and monitor progress. Observing these individuals steadily improve their range of motion as well as their quality of life under my training and motivation was profoundly rewarding.

Initially, my service with the University of Illinois' recreational facility consisted of enforcing policies, coordinating with staff to satisfy productivity standards, and ensure patron safety. As a student lead, I accomplished department objectives and staff results by communicating job expectations. I was also responsible for maintaining quality service and management of facilities and parks associated with the University's recreational facility.

As a clinic assistant, I helped prepare patients for cardiologist, where I assessed patient vitals, medical history and added ordered tests and documents to patients files. I had the privilege of observing and participating in ordered ECGs monitoring arrhythmias. My duties also included the origination and filing of physical patient records and their transfer into electronic medical record systems.
