Frank La is a coffee professional who most recently was the Director of Quality and Innovation for HNF & Associates, overseeing product quality in both the retail and wholesale arms of Copa Vida, as well as the new ventures HNF & Associates moves into. He received his B.S in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management from University of California Riverside in 2010, where he dreamed of becoming a chef and restauranteur. His love for cooking eventually brought his attention to coffee where he realized his love for people and product could be met.Before joining USHG, Frank has held jobs at notable coffee companies across the city including Cafe Dulce as the Operations Manager, where he helped create and establish their coffee and tea program from the ground up. Frank moved onto work at LAMILL Coffee as their Wholesale Trainer and Educator, working with and training staff from some of the best restaurants around the city. Most recently, Frank has held multiple positions at Copa Vida ranging from Manager of Product Quality in charge of beverage menu development and training, to Account Executive, helping with new customer acquisition, wholesale support, as well as training across the two regions of San Diego and Pasadena; and most recently served as Retail Area Manager, overseeing cafe operations for both cafe and kitchen operations in Pasadena, and overseeing project management for the new café opening in Glendora this year.His skills as a coffee professional has earned him a 3rd place finish at South West Regionals in 2013 United States Barista Championship, ranking him in the top 25 baristas nationally. When he’s not sipping espresso, Frank loves to cook, spend time with his wife, and root for his beloved Dodgers and Lakers.
